Substance Use Assessment

In many cases, such as a DUI in another state, the court or BMV may require a substance use assessment in addition to completing an education class. If this is the case, be sure to call our office and schedule an assessment BEFORE you sign up for a Prime For Life® class.

Class Format

Prime For Life® classes are offered both in-person and virtually, which means you can attend your class from the comfort of home!

Cost

8hr - $140 //  12hr - $165 //  20hr - $180

Prime For Life® Participant Workbook
  • Virtual Classes: Participants will want to sign up for virtual classes at least two weeks before the first day of the class, so we have ample time to mail their Participant Workbook.

About Prime For Life®

Prime For Life® is a program designed to gently but powerfully challenge common beliefs and attitudes that directly contribute to high-risk alcohol and drug use. The content, process, and sequence of PRIME For Life are carefully developed to achieve both prevention and intervention goals.

The program goals of PRI are:

  • to reduce problems caused by high-risk drinking or drug use;

  • to reduce the risk for long-term health problems and short-term impairment problems;

  • to help people successfully protect the things they value.

Using persuasion-based teaching, instructors use a variety of teaching approaches, including interactive presentations and small group discussions. Participants use workbooks throughout the course to complete a number of individual and group activities. The material is presented using a DVD platform with animation, full-motion video clips, and audio clips to enhance the presentation. All prescribed durations of PRIME (8, 12, and 20 hours) are offered at Life Recovery Center.

Please Note

For clients referred by an external entity such as an attorney, court, probation, or the DMV, etc., the client is solely responsible for confirming that attending Prime For Life® in their chosen module of 8hr, 12hr, or 20hrs will satisfy the requirements of their referring entity.
